Full-time Weekend Morning Meteorologist/ Reporter, KETV Omaha
KETV Hearst Television’s ABC affiliate in Omaha has an opening for a weekend morning meteorologist/ reporter full time. KETV is looking for an experienced meteorologist with news reporting skills as well. Please include a link to your recent work with your application.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop forecasts and present weather for weekend newscasts
• News reporter three days a week
• Fill in as meteorologists on other newscasts
• Cover breaking weather and news
• Some storm chasing
Experience:
• At least two years as an on-air meteorologist
• Some news reporting experience
Requirements:
• Excellent forecasting skills
• Excellent on-air skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to tell a compelling weather story
• Great on-air personality and ability to relate to the audience
• Ability to use common television weather systems. WSI preferred.
• Radar experience preferred
• Strong writing skills
• Ability to do live field reporting on weather and other topics
• CBM or willingness and ability to obtain one
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in meteorology or related field. Broadcast training desirable
