Photographer/Backpack Journalist, WOWT (Omaha)

A “backpack” journalist will shoot, write, produce content on air and online. He/she will have a demonstrated ability to work individually or as part of a team to produce compelling packages on deadline and the time management skills to produce news stories for WOWT.

Candidates should have experience as a reporter or photojournalist for a broadcast news station or college news station. Duties of this job include creative shooting, writing, editing and posting of news stories, both hard news and features. Must have good writing skills and must be able to work well under strict deadline pressure.

The successful applicant’s background must include, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field. He/she must be a self-starter, with knowledge of and ability to operate state-of-the-art television news equipment as well as website publishing.
