KSNB-TV is seeking applicants for a full-time Anchor/Reporter. He/she has the chance to work with a team of reporters and anchors across the state of Nebraska in delivering award-winning coverage and delivering content for a nightly newscast.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): work with team in coordinating local news coverage; Write, produce, edit and anchor assigned local newscasts. Cover stories, in the capacity of reporter, videographer, or reporter/videographer. Edit. Operate videography equipment in a manner necessary for quality video news presentations; including setup and installation, operation and tear down. Web site and social media duties include entering stories, recording and video streaming stories as instructed by supervisors. Contribute to the idea pool from which assignments are made. Maintain contacts within the community to better cover local news. Perform any other functions relative to the quality of news presentations assigned by the News Director.
Qualifications: College degree in journalism, related field, or equivalent job experience. Experience on-air and in a newsroom covering news. Ability to operate videography equipment. Knowledge of journalism ethics, slander, and libel laws.
Full-time hours are variable. Applicants must be willing to work weekends, early mornings and evenings as required. Applicants are further expected to reside in Hastings or Grand Island, Nebraska. Full-time employment includes all currently offered company benefits at time of hire.
