What does a PR Brand Marketing Coordinator at Hayneedle do?

This position is responsible for assisting the Sr. Brand Marketing Manager with executing public relations efforts, brand advertising campaigns, and events. Campaigns may take place in digital, print, video/TV media and/or brick and mortar events.

Key Responsibilities:

-Develop press releases in support of company news (i.e. new hires, brand partnerships, brand campaign, new technology features, etc.) and distribute within the appropriate channels, markets and audiences.
-Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media.
-Ongoing pitching to media outlets in an effort to get additional exposure for the brand
-Coordinate all public relations activities.
-Assist with managing media inquiries and interview requests.
-Research and execute topics (internal and external) to help inform the development of future press releases or pitch angles to media that creates additional exposure for the brand.
-Work with internal SEO, promotion and brand teams to align with content creation.
-Respond to press requests for product imagery and product samples, following up to ensure delivery and to get proof of placements.
-Assists with product selection for our PR partners along with the product ordering process, as needed.
-Negotiate sample product costs with vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers.
-Communicate cross-functionally to align with all areas of marketing and across the business. This includes providing ongoing updates on intranet of any company news
-Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.
-Stay up-to-date on new media tools, best practices, and changes in brand advertising.
-Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results within the organization.

What basic qualifications will our PR Brand Marketing Coordinator need to have?

-Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Public Relations, or other related field.
-1-3+ years of experience of business experience.
-Certification in PRSA, preferred.
-Experience working with Cision/Vocus, Meltwater, Business Wire, etc. preferred.
-Communicate effectively cross-functionally in a professional way.
-Prioritize multiple tasks.
-Coordinate planning and organization with third party providers.
-Must be able to work independently and manage projects in a timely manner.
-Expert skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
