Community Outreach Student Intern I, AARP (Lincoln)

An exciting opportunity to help implement educational services and programs for people 50+. Work closely with AARP Nebraska Associate Director for Community. Outreach in supporting activities for community presence, regional AARP volunteer teams, Life Reimagined and other volunteer efforts. Provide assistance in training, communicating with, and coordinating speaking engagements for volunteer trainers. Prepare volunteer educational materials. Help prepare and staff community events.

Qualifications required:

-Currently enrolled as a student working on an undergraduate degree in social work, gerontology, liberal arts, journalism, communications or political science, Will consider all degrees and work related experience.
-Intern I position requires undergraduate studies, junior or senior year.
-Minimum GPA required is 3.0
-Able to work business hours, part-time 15 or more hours weekly.
-Experience using social media channels like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online search tools.
-Able to commit to AARP Nebraska thru internship term beginning June 5, 2017 and ending August 18, 2017. There will be the possibility of extending the internship for up to one year.
