The Office Economic Development is seeking a paid, part-time Intern to assist with writing, marketing, and support of internal and external communications. In addition, this position will assist in office organization and other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. This position will last 12-16 weeks. This is a part-time internship at 20-32 hours per week during normal business hours which are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Hours/schedule are flexible based on school schedule.
The intern will experience a fast-paced, professional environment in communications, marketing, brand development and integration. The intern will learn about the Office of Economic Development and its initiatives, as well as the Denver municipal government and public service. The Intern will be exposed to a variety of projects within the Office of Economic Development, email marketing, newsletter production, digital signage, communications planning, copy editing, special events, video production, and website development. They will report to the Marketing and Communications team and will receive real time feedback on performance, as well as a review at the end of the internship.
The intern should be able to provide excellent customer service, be proficient in writing, proofreading, grammar and spelling. The Intern will be experienced with MS Office Suites and Adobe Creative Suite.
The intern will primarily be responsible for:
> Help develop, execute, and measure social media campaigns, including: creating content, posting, reporting on performance, and developing engagement strategy
> Collect and catalog success stories, photographs, video, etc. from internal teams and partners
> Assist in editing/writing stories for social media web site, and marketing materials
> Assist with content development for website, social media, and marketing materials
> Assist with planning and implementation of press events
> Help develop new agency website
> Draft and edit newsletter content
> Help develop a marketing and communications plan for department
> Edit and drafting website content
> Proof reading a variety of written communications
> Perform some clerical and administrative work
