Wesely and Polk at National Horticulture Contest

Lancaster County 4‑H’ers Kaily Wesely and Catherine Polk participated in the national Senior Horticulture Identification Contest at the National Junior Horticulture Association conference held in Lincoln on Oct. 11–13. They were part of a four-member team which represented Nebraska, and received 4th place! Individually, Kaily placed 4th and Catherine placed 16th.

The youth qualified for the national contest by placing high at the Nebraska 4‑H Horticulture Identification Contest held during the Nebraska State Fair. Extension Educator Elizabeth Exstrom of Hall County coached the team. Catherine also competed in the floral arranging and horticulture art contests.
