Professor Shavers participated in the UNL Future of the Humanities Symposium on March 9-11, 2017. During the Symposium, Shavers chaired and presented a talk entitled “The Role of Law and Humanities in teaching International Gender Issues” on the Humanities and Human Rights panel. The other panelists included Peter Longo, University of Nebraska, Kearney and
Bedross Der Matossian, University of Nebraska, Department of History.

On January 19, Professor Anna Shavers participated in the "What Now? Your Rights and Responsibilities" panel as part of UNL’s Martin Luther King Jr. Week events. The panel discussed promoting a healthier campus climate in the post-election environment.

Professor Shavers wrote "Using Customary International Law to Improve Women’s Lives", a chapter in Professor Lepard's book Reexamining Customary International Law.
