US Air Force JAG Corp – Informational Interviews

Informational interviews will be held on Thursday, March 19, with the US Air Force JAG Corp. The interview is for informational purposes only and meant to help students prepare for written application and SJA interview. If you’re interested in visiting with Capt. Rolek, please find more information regarding this in ROSCOE under OCI, 2015 Spring OCI – Session 4 (March 16-20). EVERYONE interested will be selected to meet with the Captain. For ease of scheduling, however, we need you to bid through ROSCOE or contact the CSO to let us know you’d like to visit with Capt. Rolek when he’s here. If you have any questions or need assistance, please stop by the CSO. Bids need to be in by Monday, March 16.

This brown-bag lunch in Room 111 is geared toward 3Ls interested in talking about the legal market, job searches and expectations. Dean Everman plans to spend just a bit of time at the beginning on a power point presentation going over the latest national statistics and comparing them to our own. These stats can help put your own search into perspective. Dean Everman will plan to go over some search strategies and take questions you may have about best practices on reaching out to employers who are not posting, following up with employers after interviews, the importance of keeping track of your outreach efforts, etc.

This Dean's Roundtable lunch will be focusing on Telecommunications Law. If this is an interest area of yours, please rsvp and we will accommodate as many students as we can. We always offer seats to 2Ls and 3Ls first at the roundtables, but we have consistently had 1L students able to attend as well. RSVP to indicate your interest!

3L One-on-One Appointments
We are reaching out to all 3Ls to ask that each of you take time to touch base with the CSO in the next few weeks. As part of your graduation packet that Vicki Lill will distribute in mid-April, you will be asked to complete the graduate survey in ROSCOE. We have already made the Graduate Survey available to you (under your profile tab) so you can fill it out at any time. This survey, however, is a poor substitute for a one-on-one meeting. Even if you have already accepted employment, please consider this short meeting an exit interview.

Heather and Tasha will both be here over spring break if that is a good time for you to meet. You are also welcome to set up a phone call if that is more convenient. You can stop by, call, or email lawcareer@unl.edu to set up a time. Depending on your situation, the meetings could vary from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. If you are still seeking employment, these meetings are especially important so we can better assist you in your search.
