I would also like to call your attention to the training materials that we have available to you from Vista. At the request of a fellow safety-conscious local agency, we have added some content related to mowing safety. Many thanks to the anonymous county for suggesting that mowing safety is often overlooked. From mowing the lush green grass around city-owned facilities to chopping roadside ditches, because of limited resources, this duty sometimes falls to the least experienced of our operators. A little preparation ahead of time can reduce your agency’s risk of injury and equipment damage. Have a newer operator at least sit and watch the Vista training video and spend a little time with a more experienced operator. It can make a world of difference in their confidence and performance.
