Traffic Incident Management (TIM) is an integral part of post-crash care in efforts to reach zero deaths. Coordinated efforts between law enforcement, fire and EMS departments, towing, and transportation agencies are key to clearing the roadway and preventing secondary crashes. Join first responders from across the state in a live-scale training exercise November 3.
TIMEX is a free, full-day live TIM field exercise designed to give all disciplines a better understanding of TIM best practices. We will cover topics such as quick clearance strategies, push/pull/drag, expedited crash investigation, unified command and communication best practices, hazmat response, heavy rescue, and more.
TIMEX will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center, 3600 N Academy Rd., Grand, Island, NE 68801. The exercise is free and open to all Nebraska first responders. Registration is required as limited spots are available. CEUs are available for this exercise, and documentation will be provided at the event.
It is recommended that you have completed National TIM Training within the last two years as a prerequisite to TIMEX. Upcoming training opportunities are listed on the Nebraska TIM web site. TIM training puts law enforcement, fire, medical personnel, roadway owners, emergency management and communication, tow, and other incident responders on the same page, leading to a safer, faster, integrated responder team.
