Volunteers Wanted for Math APR Meeting
Hi all,
My name is Layla Montemayor, I am a junior math major here at UNL and the undergraduate liaison for this year's departmental APR site visit. The Math department is looking for a group of undergraduate math majors to attend a meeting with the APR committee on Tuesday, October 11th from 8:30-9:45am in Avery Hall.
An APR is when members of other colleges math departments come to UNL to give an unbiased external review of our different departments. At UNL, each department is reviewed every seven years with this year being the Math departments turn. These visits affect the departments funding and the resources available to students.
We need a group of 12-15 students to represent the department. The commitment is only an hour and this is a great opportunity to represent the department, so please consider attending! I’ve included a link to a google form, it should only take a minute to fill out and it allows me to track who can join us.

P.S. Doug has told me that participation in events like this is considered when the department is awarding scholarships each year.
