Every spring, programs that are members of the MTEP 2.0 Networked Improvement Community are asked to complete the MTEP 2.0 Program Progress Survey, which tracks their progress in achieving MTEP’s Guiding Principles for Secondary Mathematics Teacher Preparation, an elaboration of the Standards for Preparing Teachers of Mathematics from the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators. In the survey, respondents are asked to rate their program’s progress in meeting the standards, as well as more-detailed indicators for each standard. The tables at right present the percent of teams reporting that they have made “substantial progress” or “fully met” each of the standards.
As you review these data, you might ask yourself:
- How does your program’s progress compare to that of other MTEP 2.0 programs?
- Are there particular areas in which your program could learn from other programs or share your program’s expertise to support other programs?
- In what areas should the MTEP 2.0 network as a whole focus to support improvement efforts?
