K-12 Administrator Briefing
MTEP 2.0 is hosting a panel to discuss the importance of partnerships between teacher preparation programs, state departments, and school districts. The panel will feature a 9-12 department head of mathematics, a high school principal, a district superintendent, a state department of mathematics education director, and members of the MTEP 2.0 leadership team. Our goal is to discuss how forging bidirectional mutually beneficial relationships between secondary mathematics education programs at universities and colleges and their state departments of education and local school districts can aid in the positive transformation of secondary mathematics teacher education. We will discuss how such relations can aid in teacher recruitment and retention and better prepared beginning teachers.
