Read: Accelerating Progress Towards Asset-based Mathematics Teacher Preparation Through a Networked Improvement Community: It’s All About Partnerships

In their new blog post for the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences Improving Undergraduate STEM Education Initiative, authors and MTEP 2.0 co-principal investigators W. Gary Martin, Marilyn Strutchens, and Alyson Lischka introduce the Mathematics Teacher Education Partnership (MTEP), a consortium of universities that have been collaborating to improve the preparation of secondary mathematics teachers. From this initiative and its networked improvement community (NIC) model, the second-generation network (MTEP 2.0) was launched in 2020 to focus on supporting secondary mathematics teacher preparation programs. The authors use MTEP 2.0 as an example of how to form effective partnerships to support improvement efforts.
