Mini-grants are available to support the work of NICs involved in MTEP…but funding is running out! Funds can support travel to promote collaboration within or across teams, events hosted by MTEP teams, stipends for consultants and/or participants, and/or materials required for proposed activities. Interested teams should apply as soon as possible.
What is the purpose of the MTEP NIC Support Mini-Grant Program?
To support the improvement work of NICs involved in MTEP
Who can apply?
- Change agents leading a program or team NIC
- Representatives of an emerging cross-team collaboration
- Members of an MTEP 1.0 RAC seeking to update prior RAC materials
- The funds, which will be paid by UNL directly to participants, can support:
- Travel to a gathering to promote collaboration within a team or across multiple teams, or to other events or conferences that are clearly connected to the team’s work.
- Events put on by a team or collaboration of teams, such as a gathering of program graduates or a recruitment fair.
- Stipends to consultants who are organizing events or completing the proposed task/activity, if the work is beyond their normal job duties.
- Stipends may also be requested for participants in events.
- Materials, such as books, technology, or postcards, that are required to execute proposed activities.
- Travel to a gathering to promote collaboration within a team or across multiple teams, or to other events or conferences that are clearly connected to the team’s work.
- This is not a subaward. Thus, no release time or indirect funds can be supported.
- Note: Each NIC is already allocated funds to travel to the MTEP pre-conference attached to the AMTE annual conference. You do not need to submit a proposal to use these travel funds. If your NIC would like to request additional travel funds to AMTE, please contact Meghan Leadabrand and Wendy Smith.
- We will consider proposals for up to $10,000. Under special circumstances, larger proposals may be considered. However, we suggest that you talk to a member of MTEP leadership (Gary or Wendy) before investing time into creating the proposal.
- You may also consider doing a progression of smaller proposals toward a larger goal.
- Our rubric will include the following criteria:
- A clear purpose connects the proposal to the driver diagram of the participating programs or teams, as well as to the overall MTEP driver diagram.
- A well-specified plan of action promotes program improvement. The plan should include target dates and possible PDSA cycles that will be conducted.
- The scope of the proposal aligns with requested budget and the availability of person-hours to complete the proposed activities
- Participating teams and programs must be up to date on their data collection requirements for MTEP.
- A clear purpose connects the proposal to the driver diagram of the participating programs or teams, as well as to the overall MTEP driver diagram.
- We will accept proposals on a rolling basis through April 15 or until funding runs out. Those interested should apply as soon as possible. The timeline for the work must be completed by July 31.
- We will be reviewing the proposals on a rolling basis; once the available funds are all awarded, then we will not accept additional proposals. We will send out an update if funds are getting low.
- A final report will be due August 31, or 30 days after the end of the project, whichever comes first.
- See the Request for Proposals for the proposal template and submission link.
