This month's featured resource is the Mathematics Assessment Resource Service's Toolkit for Change - Challenges & Barriers. This toolkit is designed to support leaders of systematic improvement in K-12 mathematics education. The Challenges & Barriers section includes summaries and strategies for common challenges encountered in reconciling curriculum standards, achievement and high-stakes assessment; selecting, implementing and continuing the use of high quality instructional materials; providing high quality learning experiences for all students; systemwide challenges and challenges related to bringing parents on board with mathematics reform.
