
The Soybean Institute (SSI) is looking for local middle and high school teachers to attend as a paid professional development opportunity. If you attend all five days (July 7-8 and July 14-16), you will receive a $1,050 stipend, $250 lesson plan implementation bonus and classroom resources and supplies. There are two locations you can choose from: the University of Nebraska Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension, and Education Center in Ithaca or the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus in Lincoln. During your time at SSI, you will gain many skills and tools to share with your students to help them become understand the importance of soybeans in our state. There will be content from experts at UNL College of Agricultual Sciences and Natural Resources, the Nebraska Soybean Board, and other teacher collaboratives. Teachers will utilize systematic thinking in order to understand the Nebraska soybean as a system. They will have the opportunity to work with likeminded individuals to develop units to integrate into classrooms and share the Nebraska Soybean Story with students.
