The 2026 Nebraska Academy of Sciences Annual Spring Meeting will be held on Friday, April 24, at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus. The Maiben Lecture [PDF], which is free and open to the public, will take place following the meeting.
For 136 years, the Nebraska Academy of Sciences has hosted an annual meeting designed to bring the scientific community across the state together to "share their science." The main meeting will include concurrent sessions, conference panels, poster sessions, a scavenger hunt, awards, the State of the Academy address, the Maiben Lecture and reception, and raffle drawings. This year's Maiben Lecturer, Deborah Bathke, climate scientist, UNL associate professor, and Nebraska State Climatolagist, will present "Shifting Extremes: Understanding Nebraska’s Changing Climate and Preparing for What Lies Ahead."
