The PhET Interactive Simulations project at the University of Colorado Boulder now offers a variety of online extended courses for learning about PhET’s evidence-based resources and pedagogies. Thanks to PhET’s selection as an American Institute of Physics Meggers Project awardee, it recently launched its first content-focused course, with an emphasis on electricity and magnetism: Teaching Electricity and Magnetism with PhET Interactive Simulations.

Course details

  • Participants: Introductory physics and physical science teachers (upper middle school, high school and college), including pre-service teachers
  • Format: Online and asynchronous (self-paced), hosted on Coursera
  • Duration: Enroll between now and May 31 and complete this course by July 31 (Note: This course is listed as a Spring 2026 course.)
  • Pricing
    • With credits ($300): Earn two graduate teacher education credits and a Coursera certificate.
    • Certificate only ($0): Earn a Coursera certificate only.
