ASUN Student Government has applications open for leadership positions on both the executive team and the operations staff. Applications close Feb. 11. The Big Event - slated for April 23, 2022 - is an annual one-day-of-service organized by UNL students to say “Thank You” to the Lincoln community.
The Big Event has taken place at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln since 2006. Originally started at Texas A&M University in 1982, The Big Event has since been adopted by scores of colleges and universities across the United States.
Student volunteers will help local Lincoln organizations and private residences with acts of service, like painting hours and walls, cleaning garages, raking leaves and more.

This group of student leaders is dedicated to planning the day's events and leading each of the select committees. Positions students can apply to include:

Operation Staff
This group will be responsible for:
• Calling and visiting volunteer sites prior to The Big Event
• Visiting job sites on the day of the event to ensure community needs are being met
• Assisting with recruitment of student volunteers
