Civic Engagement Certificate program applications due Dec. 3

Student applications for the Civic Engagement Certificate program for the spring 2013 semester are due by 5 p.m. Dec. 3.

The program allows students to develop their ability to change the world.

The program is designed to help students:

• Develop skills in six areas of civic engagement: civic identity and commitment, leadership, diversity of community and culture, civic communication, analysis of knowledge, and action;

• Gain a competitive advantage in the job market by demonstrating character through your commitment to civic interests;

• Acquire new perspectives on the community and world;

• Increase knowledge; and

• Reap rewarding experiences.

In order to be accepted into the program, students must have at least a 2.5 GPA, completed 15 or more credit hours, and have at least a minimum of four semesters left at UNL.
