The Prairie Schooner, the literary quarterly of the Department of English, has named a new managing editor, Marianne Kunkel, a third-year Ph.D. student in poetry.
Kunkel specializes in women's and gender studies at UNL and takes over the post full time after serving as the publication's interim managing editor for six months. She has a master of fine arts degree from the University of Florida.
An Alabama native, Kunkel has four years of publishing and editing experience working at the University Press of Florida, Naylor Publications and the University of Nebraska Press. Kunkel has published poems in "Columbia Poetry Review," "Hayden's Ferry Review," "Poet Lore," "Rattle" and "River Styx." Her chapbook, "The Laughing Game," is forthcoming from Finishing Line Press.
The editor-in-chief of Prairie Schooner is Kwame Dawes.
