Give your student the ultimate gift this holiday season and encourage them to apply for scholarships for their 2020-21 academic year.

Current students can apply for scholarships that are either awarded by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid or an academic college in just two steps:

Step 1: Students should submit the “Scholarship Application for Current Undergraduate Students” in MyRED under the Financial Aid tab. They can save their progress and complete it when it’s convenient. The application is available NOW through February 1, 2020.

Step 2: If they haven’t already, your student will need to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at fafsa.gov. Students must submit the FAFSA in addition to the scholarship application in order to be eligible for scholarships based on financial need. The FAFSA takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. The priority deadline to submit the FAFSA is April 1, 2020.

Scholarships are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students are automatically considered after they submit the application and the FAFSA—so they should apply soon to lock in their eligibility.

If your student has questions, student services specialists at Husker Hub are available to help—no appointment necessary. Husker Hub is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Husker Hub is conveniently located on City Campus at 130 Louise Pound Hall, just east of Sheldon Art Museum and west of Love Library.
