The Nebraska Residential Experience offered by University Housing aims to develop engaging communities where residents can have transformational experiences, connect to campus resources and build supportive peer networks and relationships.

Since the semester began, University Housing has provided several opportunities where student residents can engage with their communities and create relationships.

  • During the opening weekend, over 400 residents attended the hypnotist event sponsored by the Residence Hall Association.
  • Two outdoor movie nights featuring Cruella and F-9: The Fast Saga have taken place on the 17th Street Greenspace.
  • Nearly 100 residents were elected to hall government leadership positions. Officers are currently working on planning events and engaging their communities.
  • More than 70 members of the National Residence Hall Honorary attended a student leadership retreat that focused on building connections and learning how they can make an impact on campus.

Preliminary data from an annual student survey is showing that residents are successfully connecting and finding friends within their residence hall communities. Feedback from the survey will help RAs (Resident Assistants) determine impactful community programming and intentional outreach throughout the academic year.
