February Fitness Challenge: Flights Ascending & More

Flights Ascending & More
Flights Ascending & More

The fitness challenge sponsored by the SNR Wellness Team and the SNR Social Committee for February 2026 will be “Flights Ascending & More.” To be more inclusive, we are broadening our activity to track active minutes of a workout. This can still be climbing stairs, but now it can include walking routes in Hardin Hall or East Campus or office exercises or other activities. We are also partnering with UNL’s HealthierU team that has purchased a subscription to the app “Stridekick.” This app can be partnered with your wearable device and automatically add your activity to our SNR challenge. Manual entries can all be made for those without wearable devices on the app. And if you are even phobic about apps, we will have the spreadsheet entry workflow. (The only downside to all these options is that the leaderboard may not be exactly up to date in real time.)

Like last year, we will have weekly challenges and overall challenge winners. Each week participants will need to complete TBD minutes by Saturday each week to be considered for the drawing. (Manually entered activities must be entered each Saturday at midnight to be considered in the weekly drawing requirement. Late entries will not be accounted for in the weekly total.) An overall challenge first, second and third place winner will be determined by total minutes for the month of February. Participation is open to all faculty, staff and graduate students in SNR. Undergraduates may participate, but at this time are not eligible to be included in the prize drawings or overall awards.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the registration form. You can join at any time through the end of February. The initial kickoff email will be sent on January 26, 2026.

If you already have the "Stridekick" app, you can join the SNR challenge with the private challenge code.

HealthierU has a great FAQ page for Stridekick at here.
