Glow Big Red, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s annual 24-hour fundraising event, will take place from noon on February 11 through noon on February 12.
“Glow Big Red is an opportunity to celebrate what makes the university special and to invite people to show their support in accessible ways,” said Larkin Powell, director of the School of Natural Resources.
“Even small gifts are meaningful because they reflect belief in our students and the work they are preparing to do.”
This year’s Glow Big Red effort highlights the people at the heart of the School of Natural Resources—students who are choosing careers dedicated to stewardship of wildlife, water, and working lands. Funds raised during the event support student learning experiences, professional development, and opportunities that help prepare graduates for meaningful careers in natural resource management.
“At SNR, I found the mentorship and opportunities that shaped my passion for climate resilience and public policy," said Andrew Mwape, a recent PhD graduate in applied climate sciences. "The hands-on research and real-world impact of our work prepared me to contribute meaningfully to global environmental challenges.”
“The ‘small but mighty’ donations from Glow Big Red support many of the experiences that connect students with peers, professionals, and real-world challenges,” Powell said. “These funds help students attend conferences, participate in hands-on learning, and build the networks they’ll rely on throughout their careers.”
