Spring 2013 Biotechnology / Life Sciences Seminar Series

Dr. Marc Facciotti
Dr. Marc Facciotti

“Investigating haloarchaeal gene regulatory networks across the molecular and evolutionary scales,” will be presented by Dr. Marc Facciotti, University of California, Davis. Our lab is interested in understanding the structure and dynamics of gene regulatory networks in archaea. We are working specifically with the haloarchaea as model systems and are taking a comprehensive approach to this large problem by integrating traditional molecular approaches to comparative genomics. I will discuss two ongoing efforts in the lab in the context of archaeal GRNs: (1) the development of ChIP-Seq in the haloarchaea and (2) results from a recent multi-organism genome sequencing effort.
The seminar begins at 4:00 p.m., preceded by a reception at 3:30 p.m. The seminar is free and open to the public. The Beadle Center is located at 1901 Vine Street. The complete schedule of seminars may be found at http://biotech.unl.edu/
