Following last month's update, Academic Technologies has enabled New Quizzes in faculty Canvas sandbox courses. The “Quizzes” section of your sandbox course will allow you to begin testing this new offering. You will see the New Quizzes option when you click the “+ Quiz” in a sandbox or when you click the three dots icon to the right of a Classic Quiz and see the ability to migrate it to a New Quiz.

Academic Technologies plans on enabling New Quizzes as an option in all courses in January for the spring semester. There are no plans to turn off Classic Quizzes at this time and instructors do not need to migrate their content to the new platform – it is simply a new tool with new features that some faculty may be interested in for their courses.

Learn more about the features available with New Quizzes from the Academic Technologies training course in Canvas, which includes a five-minute introductory video to the platform on the course homepage. You can also learn more at the New Quizzes Hub on the Instructure website. When New Quizzes goes live for all courses in January, Academic Technologies will offer Zoom-based training.

In addition to Teacher Connect, trainings for New Quizzes, as well as any new Canvas features, will be shared via the IT-TIPS weekly email list. Sign up for IT-TIPS.
