Spring Academic Technologies opportunities

Academic Technologies will provide training opportunities as part of its Learning Series until the semester concludes. The Learning Series consists of weekly one-hour training sessions conducted via Zoom. Each session is dedicated to exploring a specific service area from the Academic Technologies service catalog. Below are training sessions in March and April.

Zoom March 21, 2-3 p.m. – At this session, the presenter will cover best practices of Zoom use (including a discussion of appropriate security settings), explore how to schedule and create Zoom Webinars, and discuss how to request and use apps from the Zoom Marketplace. Register online.

Course Evaluation Data March 26, 10-11 a.m. – In this session, the presenter will provide data snapshots into course evaluation usage on campus. Register online.

Adobe Acrobat April 4, 1-2 p.m. – This session will explore features available to users in Adobe Acrobat, a tool which is available at no charge to UNL students, staff, and faculty. This demonstration will include a discussion of how Adobe Acrobat can be used in support of accessibility best practices in Canvas courses. Register online.

New Quizzes Settings and Accommodations April 10, 10-11 a.m. – In this session, presenters will provide a deep dive into the quiz settings that are available in New Quizzes. This will include a discussion of how accommodations and Digital Learning Center reservations work with New Quizzes. Register online.

iClicker Cloud April 19, 9-10 a.m. – This presentation by our partners at iClicker will provide an overview of iClicker Cloud. The presenter will review how iClicker works, how to create a free instructor account and course, provide a live polling demonstration, review the iClicker instructor site, go over new features, and discuss the iClicker grade sync to Canvas. YuJa Advanced April 23, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. – Diana from YuJa will be providing an advanced training session. Topics include how to edit a video, how to create a YuJa quiz, and how to use YuJa analytics. Register online.

Technology Tuesdays
For just-in-time support and general questions about UNL technology, Academic Technologies will be offering office hours every Tuesday this semester through May 14 from 2-4 p.m. No advance sign up is needed; just visit go.unl.edu/techtuesdays.
