On March 1, Sarah Rose Cavanagh, author of Mind Over Monsters: Supporting Youth Mental Health with Compassionate Challenge spoke with a group of instructors as part of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Teaching and Learning Improvement Council's Spring Symposium.

Fifty members of UNL’s instructional community discussed and reflected on how to address the mental health challenges amongst our students and were mindful of identifying sustainable approaches. Cavanagh discussed the liminal space that we’re in now in the aftermath of the disorientation from the pandemic.

The talk was co-sponsored by the Center for Transformative Teaching and is available as a resource on the CTT website along with supplemental materials.

The CTT has also facilitated a learning community to discuss Mind Over Monsters. Faculty interested in joining a discussion in a future semester can contact Steven Cain at scain@unl.edu.
