All undergraduates are invited to participate in the "Inclusive Leadership Retreats" on Friday, October 5 from 11:30 am-6:00 pm or Sunday, October 28 from 1 pm-6:00 pm. Both retreats will be held in the Willa Cather Dining Complex. Registration for each retreat is limited to the first 150 students who sign up.
The "Inclusive Leadership Retreats" are designed to help students think deeply about how to lead inclusively and to take on leadership roles--in the classroom, in university clubs or organizations, and in their communities. Through small group activities, guided reflections, and interactive discussions, these retreats increase participants’ awareness of what it means to be an inclusive leader, promote confidence in facilitating conversations about inclusion and diversity, and help build connections to other student, staff, and faculty leaders on campus.
Students who participate in this retreat are prepared to apply for university leadership positions, including peer mentors and consultants, RSO positions, NSE leaders, resident assistants, and college and research ambassadors. Participants also are certified to serve as facilitators for Husker Dialogues, a campus-event for first year students held each fall.
A free lunch and refreshments will be provided.
