Kelly Grant seed funds are available for faculty through the STAR initiative. Projects, which are faculty-led, are intended to result in use, adaptation, and/or creation of Open Educational Resources (OER), including textbook alternatives, assessment tools, and ancillary materials. Inclusion of OER can expand instructors' options from a pedagogical and course design perspective while decreasing cost for students. A long-term goal of the Open Education Resources Kelly Grants is to cultivate and support the development of a network of instructors who implement, develop, and adapt OER in support of student learning, and to encourage broad sharing of OERs at UNL and beyond.
A team from Information Technology Services, Innovative Instructional Design, and the University Libraries is available to assist faculty with integrating OER into a course, and can be contacted for consultation and with questions about the seed grants at bsevera@nebraska.edu.
Instructors can apply for a seed grant on December 3rd 2018 by filling out an online form here: http://unl.libsurveys.com/oergrant
The seed grants will be awarded in early February 2019 for Fall 2019 courses. Additional information about OER is available at: http://unl.libguides.com/oers
