Guest speaker Nancey Murphy will argue that it is possible to extend the idea of sanctity beyond humans to all of nature during a 4 p.m., March 14 lecture in Andrews Hall's Dudley Bailey Library. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Murphy is a professor of Christian philosophy at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif. Taking a position she calls "eco-physicalism," Murphy argues that it is possible to extend the definition of sanctity if one takes a anthropological view of humans being essentially physical beings.
