Schaffert to read from latest novel April 18

Timothy Schaffert will read from and discuss his latest novel, "The Coffins of Little Hope," at 7 p.m., April 18 at University Bookstore. A book signing will follow. The event is free and open to the public.

Shaffert is a lecturer in the department of English. He grew up on a farm in Nebraska and lives in Omaha. He’s the author of three other novels, including "The Phantom Limbs of the Rollow Sisters" and "The Singing and Dancing Daughters of God."

His novels have been a Barnes and Noble Discover Great Writers selection and a New York Times Editor’s Choice. His writing has won numerous awards and honors awards, including the Mary Roberts Rinehart Award, the Henfield/Transatlantic Review Award and the Nebraska Book Award.
