The Department of Mathematics Colloquium will feature Zoran Grujic, associate professor at the University of Virginia, at 4 p.m., April 25 in Avery Hall room 115. The lecture, "Energy Cascade in Physical Scales of 3-D Incompressible Flows," is free and open to faculty, staff and students.

A pre-talk reception is at 3:30 p.m. in Avery Hall, room 348.

The lecture will review mathematical results on hallmarks of the turbulence phenomenology; existence of energy cascade; and locality (in scale) of the averaged flux, including a new setting for the study of cascades in actual physical scales of the flow.

The colloquium is funded by the UNL Research Council.
