Retiring faculty honored at April 21 celebration

Eighty-one retiring faculty were honored on April 21 at a special reception recognizing and celebrating faculty achievement, where Chancellor Harvey Perlman shared his appreciation with longtime faculty for their many years of earning grants and contracts, advising and teaching graduate and undergraduate students, serving Nebraskans, and for their thousands of papers and monographs written.

Perlman told the honorees that UNL is a far better institution now than when they joined, and that the invitation to join the Big Ten came not so much because of our success on the football field, but because of our success as an institution of higher learning – propelled by their contributions and leadership as faculty.
