A Mueller Planetarium tradition is returning for a limited weekend engagement.
From 1977 to 2004, the planetarium offered laser shows in the University of Nebraska State Museum. And, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first demonstration of the laser in 1960, Mueller Planetarium is presenting LaserFest with music-themed laser shows Oct. 8, 9, and 10. There will not be astronomy or fulldome shows on these dates.
The LaserFest shows feature a wide variety of music, from the Beatles and Pink Floyd to country and family-friendly tunes.
LaserFest is held in association with UNL's Laserpalooza 2010 and the 2010 Conference for Students in Physics Oct. 7-10, hosted by the Department of Physics and Astronomy - home of the Diocles Laser. For more information, go to http://go.unl.edu/0ut.
