4-H youth ages 8 & up are invited to learn beginning sewing skills while constructing a pillow at the 4-H Pillow Party sewing workshop.
Due to inclement weather in January, it is re-scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 1-4 p.m. at the Nebraska Extension in Lancaster County conference rooms, 444 Cherrycreek Road, Suite A, Lincoln. Extension Associate Kristin Geisert will present the workshop with the help of 4-H volunteer Kath Conroy. No cost to attend. Must register by Monday, Feb. 19 by contacting Kristin Geisert at 402-441-7180 or kristin.geisert@unl.edu. This early registration date is needed to order pillow forms.
Bring your sewing machine, basic sewing equipment (scissors, pins, measuring tape), etc. Also bring 3/4 yard each of 2 coordinating/contrasting woven fabrics, pre-washed, 100% cotton (NO PLAIDS, NO KNITS, NO FLANNELS) and matching thread. Pillow forms will be provided. Make sure your machine is in good working order. A few office sewing machines are available for use upon request. Parents/adults are needed to attend to help their 4-H’er(s).
