Announcing the First Generation Nebraska Reading Club
What distinguishes first generation students from continuing generation students? As part of creating an equitable and diverse university, how do we include and support first generation students? The First Gen Nebraska Reading Club is university faculty and staff interested in these issues. This fall, the members of the reading club will read an article or book chapter each month, starting in October, and then meet for an hour online to discuss the reading in the context of their own work. There is also a discussion board, where we welcome participants to contribute their thoughts on the readings and respond to others' thoughts.
First Gen Nebraska Reading Club is open to any university faculty and staff interested in learning how to include and support first gen students.
