Q: What is the preferred process for adding a Certificate in Gerontology for a student?
A: Please direct all students interested in a Gerontology Certificate to Mollie George at molliegeorge@nebraska.edu. We prefer to meet with interested students then provide them with an application that they can submit online. Once the application is received and accepted, we will provide the student with next steps. These next steps include reaching out to (you) their primary advisor to add the CDMA to their transcript.
Q: Why should student be directed to contact Mollie George prior to adding the CDMA?
A: Our Certificate in Gerontology has a practicum/internship component—therefore, we want to make sure that the students that are pursuing a Certificate are students are well-prepared through the appropriate classes for practicum.
Q: Is there an application process for adding a Gerontology Minor?
A: No, this can be added without further follow up or meeting with the student.
