Our students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln have incredible and impactful global experiences during their time on campus. This section features those who have been highlighted across campus in the last month for their accomplishments, experiences, and Nebraska career.

This month, discover some of our students’ accomplishments in studying abroad, summer internships and student organizations.

International and domestic students build friendships at Global Friends club
A new student organization launched this spring semester is dedicated to building friendships between international and domestic students: the Global Friends club. A casual club for students to meet each week and do the activities planned by the group, it builds on the foundation of cultural exchange.

Nebraska experience propels Lechnowsky's elephant, conservation focus
Through a study abroad trip in Namibia and an internship at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, Husker Stefan Lechnowsky spent the summer observing and working with his favorite animal — elephants.

539 Huskers spent the summer studying abroad
During summer 2019, 426 Huskers took part in 30 overseas opportunities organized through Nebraska U's Education Abroad program. Another 113 students participated in other study-abroad programs.

Kirchner Food Fellowship advances Husker's entrepreneurship career
Brennan Costello, chief business relations officer at the Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program and graduate student in the College of Business, has been named a 2019-20 Kirchner Food Fellow by the Kirchner Group. As one of three graduate students selected nationwide for the fellowship, Costello will spend the next academic year learning about the world of venture capital, culminating in an opportunity to invest $50,000 in a growing global agriculture startup of his team’s choosing.

Classics students explore ancient Greek archives at Oxford
For a team of University of Nebraska–Lincoln classics students, the Greek tragedy "Antigone" has transformed into something much more than just another work of ancient literature. This summer, through Nebraska's UCARE program, the students traveled to England to work with Oxford's Archive of Performances of Greek and Roman Drama.
