Graphic Design Student Worker - Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools (Lincoln, NE)

The mission of the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools (CYFS) is to impact lives through research that advances learning and development. Visual communications and graphic design play a vital role in accomplishing this mission. From recruiting research participants to sharing findings, our team uses print, digital and multimedia strategies to reach and engage diverse audiences. CYFS is seeking a creative, detail-oriented student worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be professional, collaborative and, most importantly, have a passion for delivering high-quality work. This position requires proficiency in graphic design, layout and typography for both print and digital platforms. We are looking for a team player who will approach any task, large or small, with a positive attitude.

Primary Responsibilities:
> Assist our full-time Visual Communications Designer
> Design print and digital communications (e.g., posters, flyers, handouts, brochures, mailers, newsletters, proposal graphics, diagrams, infographics, social media assets)
> Other various duties as assigned

Required qualifications:
> Coursework in visual communications/graphic design
> Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
> Experience with print and digital graphic design
> Knowledge of the print production process
> Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
> Excellent attention to detail
> Self-motivated, proactive and a team player

Preferred qualifications:
> Familiarity with Dreamweaver / HTML / CSS
> Experience shooting and editing video
> Proficiency with Mac OS

Position details:
> Start Date: August 2, 2021 (Flexible)
> Wage: $11/Hour
> Schedule: 12-20 hours per week (Flexible)
> Location: 201 Louise Pound Hall
> Computer: Mac OS with Adobe and Microsoft Suites
