Social Media Internship, Lincoln Parks Foundation

Lincoln Parks Foundation is currently looking for an intern with experience in social media and/or design. Intern/s will be in charge of drafting and publishing written and visual content for our social media platforms. Currently, LPF uses Facebook and Twitter, but there are opportunities to expand its social media presence. LPF is looking for applicants who are humble in critiques but willing to defend their work. Additionally, intern/s will be expected to commit 15 hours a week for at least one semester (spring, summer, or fall).
Lincoln has an impressive parks and recreation system that includes 128 parks, 85 playgrounds,133 miles of trails,10 pools, five recreation centers and five public golf courses. Excellent amenities like these are important for the community's quality of life and economic development.

It’s LPF’s mission to inspire and nurture a philanthropic legacy for parks and recreation in the community. As a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, LPF works in partnership with the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department. Likewise, it partners with the community as well. With help from individuals, corporate donors, and other charitable foundations, it’s able to bolster our efforts to sustain and improve the parks system.

LPF will help you understand how it uses social media on a day-to-day basis and look to you for new ideas that support the mission. As an intern, you can expect to develop your design and social media skills while sharpening your knowledge in brand identity. Working with current strategy, you’ll also have the opportunity to create new content themes for the social media platforms.

Writing copy and creating graphics that support social engagement as new trends develop will be within your responsibilities. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining LPF social platforms and staying current with the latest social media and design trends.

Additionally, we will work with you to receive class credit for the internship.
