KETV-TV, Hearst Television’s ABC affiliate in Omaha,
Nebraska, is looking for a reporter to join the news team. Candidate will be an
experienced reporter with strong live skills and the ability to develop hard
news and investigative stories. KETV has
just relocated to a new state of the art television station located in the
historic Burlington Station. This
position offers opportunity for advancement.
Job Responsibilities:
• Report
for various television newscasts that could include, early mornings,
nights and weekends
• Develop
sweeps and investigative reports
• Cover
breaking news
• Anchor
opportunities for the right individual
Requirements:
• At
least two years reporting in a television news environment
• Extensive
breaking news and live reporting
Qualifications
:
• Strong
reporter, storyteller and writer
• Strong
organizational skills
• Creativity,
ability to tell a story visually
• Ability
to work well under extreme deadline pressure
• Strong
live reporting skills
• Must
know how to develop news contacts, break stories and generate story
ideas. Investigative experience
desirable.
• Ability to use social media and write for the web
• Understanding
of legal issues as they pertain to broadcast journalism
Education:
• Bachelor’s
Degree in Journalism, Broadcasting, Digital Media or related field.
