Social Media Internship - Senator Tony Vargas’ office (Nebraska)

Senator Tony Vargas’ office is looking for committed activists to help increase our presence on social media and keep our constituents informed of our office’s activities. Applicants for this position should be eager, a self-starter, and willing to work in a variable, high stress environment.

Responsibilities:
> Help manage Senator Vargas’ Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media
> Coordinate with Legislative Aide and Administrative Aide on promoting events
> Develop social media campaigns to promote issues and pending legislation
> Grow Senator Vargas’ social media audience
> Work with the Advocacy and Policy Interns and the Administrative Aide to develop social media campaigns around legislation or community issues
> Other tasks as necessary

Requirements:
> Applicants for this internship should have experience (academic and/or professional or volunteer) in Communications, Marketing, and Political Science fields.
> Applicants with other backgrounds and relevant experience may be considered.
> Applicant must demonstrate knowledge of social media platforms and communications strategies and techniques
> Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for the legislature, social justice policy, and strengthening the civic health of our communities.
> Availability of 10 hours per week.
