Policy Internship - Senator Tony Vargas’ office (Nebraska)

Senator Vargas’ office is looking for committed activists to help the Senator and his staff with research on policy, issues, and other projects. Applicants for this position should be eager, a self-starter, and willing to work in a variable, high stress environment.

Responsibilities:
> Assist with policy research and analysis
> Writing, and editing reports and other projects
> Work with the Social Media and Advocacy interns and Legislative Aide to develop social media campaigns around legislation
> Coordinate with Legislative Aide on tasks and projects as needed
> Other tasks as necessary

Requirements:
> Applicants for this internship should have experience (academic and/or professional or volunteer) in Communications, Marketing, and Political Science fields.
> Applicants with other backgrounds and relevant experience may be considered.
> Applicant must demonstrate knowledge of the legislative process and public policy and must possess strong writing skills.
> Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for the legislature, social justice policy, and strengthening the civic health of our communities.
> Availability of 10 hours per week.
