Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an opening for a Corporate Communications Intern in the Corporate Communications & Public Relations Department. The work location for this internship is NPPD’s General Office in Columbus, Nebraska.
Intern will assist with story writing, layout and design, public relations activities and educational programming. Strong composition skills, customer service and familiarity with layout, design and photo/video systems. Social media knowledge and content management systems desired. Scholastic and/or utility knowledge a plus. The Intern must work well within a team environment and focus on safety; have an outgoing personality, disciplined work ethic and a commitment to quality work products preferred.
Applicant must be pursuing a degree in journalism, corporate communications, advertising, consumer engagement, public relations or business. The Intern must be enrolled in an accredited two-year or four-year college/university carrying a minimum of 12 semester units/credits or 8 quarter unit with freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior standing in a related major and must maintain enrollment. Junior or senior status is preferred.
This is a temporary position starting approximately May 15, 2019 to no later than August 31, 2019 (depending on student availability). Work schedule is Monday through Friday; 40 hours/week. Compensation is $15.00 an hour.
*Position is located in Columbus, Nebraska. Some financial assistance on housing may be available for students able to demonstrate need. Details can be discussed if the individual is selected for an interview.
