Are you looking for a way to broaden your marketing and communication skills while gaining valuable real-world experience with a nationwide, community-based organization? The YMCA of Lincoln has an opportunity for current college students to help promote the value of Y memberships, programs, and sports while serving as an important part of its marketing team as a marketing intern.
The ideal candidate would be dependable, self-motivated, creative, and organized and would have a passion for helping people and strengthening our community.
A minimum of ten (10) hours a week is required for this position, with a max of fifteen (15) hours per week with a commitment to stay in the position through April 2020. Work hours are flexible and will be completed on-site at the Administrative/Metro offices located in Fallbrook Town Center. A mutually agreeable work schedule will be created upon selection of the right candidate.
The internship provides for:
> A free membership to the Lincoln YMCA throughout the course of the internship.
> Gaining real-life experience in a marketing department that serves five membership facilities, a resident summer camp, a Youth Sports division, the city of Lincoln and its surrounding communities.
> Facilitating all Lincoln YMCA social media platforms and helping to employ new content and strategies.
> Helps to maintain and optimize content for the Lincoln YMCA website.
> Works with all Lincoln YMCA branches to help disseminate information to members and program participants.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
> 1-2 years of completed coursework in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, graphic design or a similar discipline.
> Advanced knowledge of social media and prior experience in utilizing social media for business purposes.
> Strong proofreading and grammar skills.
> Ability to gain the knowledge necessary to possess a strong understanding of the association’s style guide/brand standards.
