Recruitment and Social Media Strategist - UNL CSMCE (Lincoln, NE)

Working closely with the Assistant Director and Communications Coordinator at the Center for Science, Mathematics and Computer Education (CSMCE), the Recruitment and Social Media Strategist will help manage social media strategies and implementation for a new scholarship opportunity for the STEM CONNECT grant from the National Science Foundation.

About CSMCE:
The mission of the Center for Science, Mathematics and Computer Education is to support UNL faculty engaged in educational activities and grants focused on improving the teaching and learning of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) at both the PK-12 and collegiate level. The CSMCE assists the university community to host events, conferences, and workshops. Center staff members bring expertise in event planning and on-site coordination, design of promotional posters, written marketing communications, copy editing of proposals, and the creation and design of nametags, programs, and web pages.

Position responsibilities include, but not limited to:
> Drafting content, communicating with other departments on campus, responding to follower inquiries, and monitoring channels.
> Edit, update and produce copy for the STEM CONNECT website.
> Help create a recruitment plan for STEM CONNECT at the Math Day event on November 14, 2019.
> Assist members of the grant team in preparation for speaking opportunities.
> Research how to engage with potential audiences through internal and external resources.
> May have to help office staff with other CSMCE events and office duties beyond the scope of STEM CONNECT.

Ideal candidate is:
> Available 5 to 15 hours per week, between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. This position would begin within this fall semester 2019 and last through approximately December 2020.
> Self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills.
> (Has) some experience planning a social media campaign, or comfortable using social media platforms for a business.
> Team player, demonstrated by being flexible, curious and asking questions.
> CoJMC student with a passion for communications, social media or writing; sophomore standing; and some experience with social media analytics and HTML.
